Decisions, Decisions

By Thriell

Well, it has taken considerably longer than the “couple of months” that I originally expected, but I am actually about 6 weeks away from having the money to replace my camera equipment and I’m still looking for suggestions about what to buy. I blame the delay on the housing market.

I’ve narrowed my choices to either a Nikon D3100 or a Nikon D5100.

The D5100 is, frankly, a better camera according to a comparison at snapsort.com, but on the other hand, it’s also a couple of hundred dollars more from what I’ve seen.

The D3100 is still miles ahead of anything I’ve owned before, but on the other hand, this is the last time in the foreseeable future that I’m going to have a large sum of money to work with.

Do I save a couple of hundred dollars and get the camera that’s “good enough”, or do I splurge and get the better camera on the reasoning that I may not get another shot at it?

What would YOU do?
