I finally got a chance to shoot a few portraits of my granddaughter. In this shot, she was sitting on a sofa with a black cloth draped over it. The cloth wasn’t actually large enough to cover everything it needed to, so I used a “clone” tool to copy parts of the black cloth over the background. The light hitting her head was from a window that was behind and to the right of this picture. Originally, the window was visible in the picture. I rather like it this way.

Those of you who have been keeping track have no-doubt noticed that I haven’t posted a “Pic Of The Day” in over a month. The reasons are many, but the chief one is that the inspirations have been few and far between. I came to the conclusion that as much as I enjoy taking and posting pictures here, when I set myself a daily deadline I ended up putting myself under so much pressure to get it done each and every day that it just wasn’t fun for me any more. Since my personal enjoyment is 99% of my reason for taking pictures, imposing that deadline effectively removed my reason for taking pictures in the first place.

Therefore, I will continue to post pictures I like here, but I refuse to pressure myself into an ulcer if I don’t get it done according to a “schedule”.
